CONTEMPORARY URBAN ART
BIOGRAPHY
FiST is a 31-year-old artist from Falkirk who has been based in Glasgow for the past 14 years. He graduated from Glasgow School of Art in Product Design.
He creates “enhanced-personality” portraits and characters, drawing on and exaggerating his experiences of textures, colours, shapes and patterns from anything from Star Wars toys, 2000AD, Marvel comics, and Fischer Price space ships from his childhood to his long-term association with recreational techno music and a general love of robots and space travel.
He utilizes Victorian photographs, reclaimed wood and paper with spray paint and radiograph pens to produce work that sits somewhere between the past and the future, but not quite the present.
Previous shows include; Erotika at The Chateau (r.i.p), Buy FiST By FiST at the 13th Note, Barcode in Toronto, Canada, I'll Never be an Astronaut at Go Slow, the Cardboard Shelter Exhibition at the Crisis Skylight Café and New Faces at Recoat Gallery.
Future shows this year include The Long Gallery at the Tron Theatre and Maka Gallery in Palma, Majorca.
