CONTEMPORARY URBAN ART

BIOGRAPHY

Andy Morley – I am a professional freelance artist with extensive applied experience of graphic design, digital art, street art, and teaching.  I possess skills in developing and facilitating creative workshops such as; graphic design, mural design, aerosol art (graffiti), photography, digital art, bicycle re-cycling scheme, canvas based work and sticker/ stencil art workshops.

Utilising my skills and experiences from working within crime prevention and the youth justice system, all my projects and workshops are tailored to the client’s needs.  The workshops I provide are used as a vehicle to build confidence and self esteem, to enable young people to examine and deal with issues affecting or having the potential to affect their lives, such as; education, poor school attendance, substance misuse, attitudes to offending, relationships and sexual health.

“Workshops created and facilitated by myself, produce high quality work that will last, exceeding the expectations of its participants, leaving a legacy of achievement” - Andy Morley

My current client list include; The Sage Gateshead, NEXUS, Northumbria Police, Arson Task Force, Gateshead and Sunderland Youth Inclusion Programmes, North Tyneside Council and the NHS.

In between managing and facilitating workshops, I am constantly developing my own art skills and practise through commission work, personal art projects and through my involvement with a voluntary art co-operative ‘The Ghetto Method’.  Through the co-op, I have experience of participating in and assisting with organising high profile events, such as the Ghetto Method Art Show, The Vamos Festival and various Art Jam’s at the Newcastle based ‘The Tanners’ and various nightclubs.
